Silversmithing / goldsmithing is the art of making jewelry and objects from silver / gold.

The different silversmithing programs of MOKUME art studies teach the processing of metals, precious and non-precious, and their formation during the manufacture of jewels and objects using various decorative techniques. These techniques come from older or newer time periods and from various places and cultures.

Vocational Training Program

Two 5-semester specializations:

  • Handmade Jewelry and Jewelry Design

  • Production Jewelry

Basic Silversmithing

4 semesters, attendance of 210 hours per semester, 15 hours per week.

Part-time Attendance

Semiannual part-time attendance of 140 hours, 10 hours per week.

Summer classes

75-90 hour classes, in 5-6 weeks, 15 hours per week.

Seminars

It is possible to follow individual techniques through seminars. Attendance hours are determined by the learning requirements of each technique.
